Is This A Dream?

"This can't be real." thought Rupert the Toxicroak. He was standing in an open field. He didn't know how but somehow he just knew he was far from the ranch, far from the Sinnoh region, far from anywhere familiar. The field was ripe with flowers, Tulip's by the look of them. All of them were a vibrance of beautiful colors. He walked slowly through the flowers, treading carefully so as not to damage the flowers. And then all of a sudden he saw someone on the other side of the field. He began to wave his hand toward the Pokemon but then stopped when he saw who it was. His heart began racing faster as did his legs when he began shouting the name of the Pokemon he was racing towards.

-meanwhile-

"Where am I?" thought Vanilla the Lopunny. She was also standing in an open field with dazzling tulips. She too knew she was far from Bea, far from Johto, and just far away in general. She stopped to inhale the wonderful scent of the flowers when all of a sudden she heard her name being called in the distance.

"Vanilla. . .Vanilla." yelled the voice. It was shouting, yet sounded so soft. She turned around to see the figure of another Pokemon running toward her. She could already feel the tears forming in the corners of her eyes as she too began running toward the other Pokemon. Faster and faster they both ran toward each other. Each step feeling like it took longer than the last. Getting ever so closer to the one they both loved. Until at last they were both in each other's arms crying tears of joy.

"It's been so long, I thought we would never be able to see each other." said Rupert

"I never lost hope, I just new we would be together again." said Vannila. The two Pokemon still holding each other sat down slowly in the flowers. Rupert inhaled the scent of her warm fur.

"She really does smell like Vanilla, so. .sweet" thought Rupert. Rupert held Vannila tight. Long ago she thought there was no one in the world who would ever hold her so tenderly. She still couldn't believe he was right here, holding her, loving her.

"You know something." said Rupert

"Yeah?" said Vannila

"Back at my home, nobody believed that someone as wonderful as you could ever like a guy like me. They always said I was lying. They said it so much that for a time I started believing them, but deep down I just knew that you were real." said Rupert. Vanilla giggled. Here she was doubting herself being good enough for Rupert and yet here he was worrying about being good enough for me.

"Well I've been busting my cotton tail in my contests. The work is hard but the thought of you kept me going." said Vannila

"I almost forgot, here this is yours" said Rupert. He then handed her a pretty pink contest ribbon. Vannila clapsed her hand and gasped.

"I thought I lost that ribbon back at Amity Park" said Vannila placing the ribbon on her chest.

"Nope I found it and kept it safe all of this time. I always held it and thought of you" said Rupert. That was it, Vannila pounced on Rupert and held him on the grass.

"Vannila, what are you-" said Rupert. He was interupted by the warm lips of his beloved.

"Vanilla" thought Rupert. Without even knowing what they were doing the 2 began to make love, slowly and passionatley. . .

Wherever the 2 were the sun had set and in it's stead stood a million twinkling stars. The 2 layed in the flowers staring up at the stars.

"Rupert" said Vannila

"Yeah?" said Rupert

"If for some reason we don't see eachother for a long time again, wiil you still love me" asked Vannila dreading the answer. But then she felt Rupert's arms again.

"How's this for an answer" said Rupert as he kissed her again. His eyes were closed as he was kissing her, but then all of a sudden he felt himself drifting away.

"No, please, no, I can't leave her now" pleaded Rupert in his head. He didn't even know who he was pleading too, all he knew was he suddenly lost the feeling in her lips. The last thing he remembered was the feeling like his body was flying somewhere. . .

Rupert awoke with a start around the ranch campfire. Everyone else was asleep. He was sweating, and his heart was pumping. He laid back down next to Veruka and Vincent who were both still sleeping.

"Was it all just a dream?" though Rupert. Suddenly he realized Vannila's ribbon which had been had been clapsed tightly in his hand was missing. . .

-meanwhile-

Vanilla slowly opened her eyes. She was sitting in the bed in the Cherrygroove City Hotel her master had been staying at. She got up slowly careful not to wake her teamates and went to the balcony. There was no moon, but the stars were twinkling just as bright as they were in the dream, or was it?

"Bad dream?" came a voice from behind her. Her good friend Shantal the shiny Buizel was rubbing her eye and holding onto her blanket.

"No, not at all" said Vanilla dreamily.

"What a pretty night tonight, isn't it Vanilla. Vanilla?" said Shantal. She noticed that Vanilla was lost in thought, her eyes transfixed upon the stars. Shantal smiled at her friend.

"Don't stay up to late, goodnight" said Shantal. And with that, Shantal went back to bed. The wind blew softly over the balcony. Vanilla held her shoulders and closed her eyes.

"I know it wasn't a dream, I just know it was real. The way he touched me, the way he held me, the way he-" said Vanilla. Suddenly she felt her chest and felt something. She gasped when she realized what it was. Her missing Pink Contest ribbon was pinned on it. She grabbed it and hugged it tightly. Proof that everything that happened wasn't a dream. Unaware that it wasn't the only thing that Rupert left her. . .
